A few weeks ago my 56" Samsung tv started turning itself off intermittantly. Sometimes it would turn off after 10 seconds and other times it would turn off after a hour. There didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to when it would turn off. So after turning itself off 5 times in a row last week I decided to make the call to have it serviced. The technician came out and replaced the bulb, it took...

"Samsung TV - Randomly turning off" The project I am currently working on requires forums to be located at the root of the website. Overall it's a very simple change, but I thought I'd blog about how I accomplished this. This requires making changes to the siteurls_override.config (located at the root of the Web directory). If you don't have a siteurls_override.config then add one. Add the following lines of code: < Override xpath...

"Community Server 2008 - Forums at the root of your website" Today, Tom Edwards sent me a link to a YouTube video of an "underground search engine rap battle" between Google and Yahoo!. As a guy who works in technology this was one of the funniest things I'd seen in a while. There are a series of 3 or so episodes (at the time of posting) and they are definitely worth checking out. http://www.searchenginerapbattle.com/...

"Search Engine Rap Battle" Today it was officially announced that Intel Capital , Intel’s global investment organization, is investing $20 million in Telligent. I'm looking forward to what the future holds! Rob's blog post about the annoucement...

"Intel Capital invests $20 million in Telligent" This past weekend I travelled to Detroit for business. While I was there I had the opportunity to attend the Detroit Grand Prix. I had access to pretty much every part of the event except pit road. I was able to watch from a trackside chalet (literally 10 feet from the track), watch from the grandstands, walked through the paddock area where the cars are taken to be worked on, etc. Here are some pics...

LeRoi Moore, saxophone player and a founding member of the Dave Matthews Band past away today. Ronni and I saw DMB 3 days ago and this was the first time I learned about his ATV accident. The reports we read sounded like he was going to be ok, so this is kind of a shock. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.
I use a program called Audacity to create the ringtone. You can download Audacity here: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ Open the .MP3 in Audacity. Select the part of the song you want to be your ringtone. Try to keep the selection 30 seconds or under. Save it as a " NEW " file. File -> Export Selection as .mp3 Note: You might need the lame_enc.dll for encoding purposes. You can get the...

"HowTo: Create a ringtone for your iPhone 3G"
Last night I decided to get an iPhone 3G. So far I have to say that it is absolutely awesome. The battery life seems to be less than desirable, but other than that I have no regrets.
I didn't spend much time sifting through pictures to find a bunch to post, but here is a quick pic of me and my nephew Kaiden. Isn't he cute!...
